Objective

The objective of Mahjong Relax is to clear all the tiles from the board by finding matching pairs of tiles. Tiles must be rescued in order to clear the board. When all the tiles have been cleared, the game is won.

Match-Making Process

To make matches, the player has to select two tiles at a time. The selected tiles must have the same design and must have their edges free. Meaning that they have to be on the edge of the board (not overlapping and not surrounded by any other tiles). When both tiles are selected and they match, they are removed to reveal the message beneath. The game continues until all tiles have been cleared.

Savings and Breaks

Mahjong Relax has an additional feature that allows the player to take a break from the game. The player can pause the game at any time, or use the “intermission” feature that designates a two-minute break from the game, during which their progress is saved. This feature is especially useful for long and intense gaming sessions, as the player can take a break quickly and the game remains intact.

Layouts

The layout of Mahjong Relax consists of 144 tiles arranged in a hierarchical pyramid shape. There are four layers of tiles at the top, each layer with increasingly larger tiles in relation to the tiles of the layer below it. The patterns on the tiles are Chinese characters (Calligraphy) and Chinese symbols which often form meaningful words or phrases.

Difficulty

The difficulty of Mahjong Relax can be adjusted by selecting a difficulty level in the settings menu. There are three difficulty levels from which the player can choose from: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Each difficulty has its own tile animation, colors, and design, making the game easier or harder, depending on the player’s skill level.

Scoring And Rewards

Mahjong Relax is a casual game, and therefore there is no competition or win-condition. Although, the game keeps score, with the score increasing when more tiles are found, and deducted when incorrect matches are made. At the end of every game, the player can win coins depending on their score. The coins can be used to purchase new levels and upgrade their stats.
