Turns and Three Shots System

In 8 Ball Pool, the player plays alternately with his/her opponent and attempts to hit the balls in the pocket, scoring points. When the game starts, each player must take either the stripes or the solids—all depending on the breakdown of balls in the pool table. The player then gets three shots per turn, and the winner of the game is determined by the number of points scored. If a player fails to pocket a ball, the turn gets passed to the opponent.

Pocketed Ball Rules

After a player’s turn, the balls that are pocketed are officially taken out of the game and no longer able to be used in any way by either player. The player can continue to shoot until the maximum of three shots is reached, after which the turn is passed. When the game gets to its conclusion, both players must have had the same number of turns, with the one that got the most points as the one who wins.

Winning the Game

In order to win the game, a player needs to pocket all the balls in the table and be the first to pocket the 8-ball. In case of a foul, the turn passes to the opponent.
