Gameplay

To complete a Mahjong Connect board, you must remove all cards. You can clear tiles by locating and clicking pairs, either next to each other or on the outer edge of the board.

Mahjong Connect is a solitaire game, which means it can only be played alone. Mahjong Solitaire is completely different from the traditional Chinese Mahjong game but uses the same traditional tile imagery. There are many variations of Mahjong Solitaire, some containing shuffled cards, while others contain "wild card" cards that provide special features outside of the regular game.

Mahjong Connect is by itself a rather difficult game that requires a lot of logic. The game uses the original Chinese symbols on the tiles as the original board game, which may give a culture shock to the untrained eye.

Mahjong is a popular Chinese board game. Like many popular games, Mahjong has many regional variations, from the dominant Chinese style system to American Mahjong with a special bingo scorecard. These rules focus on the most basic Mahjong rules common to most other variants.

The base game is played by four players. There are three-player variants. Target The object of the game is to get a Mahjong, which consists of dividing all 14 cards into groups of four and a pair. A pair consists of two identical tiles.

A set can be a "Pung" consisting of three identical cards, or a "Chow" composed of three consecutive numbers of the same suit. One tile cannot be used for both groups at the same time.

The original game consists of the following tiles that can also be seen here:

Suited tiles - Suited tiles are divided into three suits and each is numbered from 1 to 9. The suits are bamboo, dots, and characters.

Honors tiles - there are two different sets of Honors tiles: Winds and Dragons. The Winds are East, South, West, and North. In Mahjong, East (not North) is the beginning. The Dragons are Red, Green, and White. The white dragon has a blue or black frame on the face of the piece or in some sets is entirely blank.

Bonus tiles - There are two sets of Bonus tiles: Flowers and Seasons. The flower and season tiles play a unique role in the mechanics of the game.

Simple scoring gives one point to whoever reaches Mahjong and wins the game. There are many more complex rating systems, which vary by region. Bonus points for bonus points if you don't win by folding, or by the last card, or if you don't have a dragon strike. In exponential scoring, each punch is worth 2 points, doubled if the punch is not facing up, doubled if the punch uses a 1 or 9, and doubled if the punch is a bar.

Due to the variety of scoring methods, players should carefully agree on scoring rules prior to the match.
